Elsa Bailey has done a lot of fun things in her life. She’s a self-proclaimed “rebel” and “whippersnapper”. In May, she celebrated her 100th birthday by hitting the slopes of Arapahoe Basin in Keystone, Colorado (at 100 years old!) presumably for “one last hurrah”.

But her travels didn’t end there:

Coincidentally, an employee of Natural Habitat Adventures, a company that helps organize polar bear tours, had been on the slopes the same day Bailey was celebrating her 100th birthday, and later that night while watching the news, heard Bailey admit “she still had a bucket list, and atop it was her desire to see polar bears in the wild,” Andrea Reynolds, the tour guide who accompanied Bailey on her trip, wrote on a blog detailing their adventure.

The group decided to surprise Bailey with a week-long trip to Churchill, Manitoba in October, an experience she says she’ll never forget.

We previously wrote about this same trip to Churchill (the self-proclaimed “Polar Bear Capital of the World”) with NatHab back in 2010. They’re a standup company with a great vision and excellent leadership and it doesn’t surprise me in the least that they decided to honor Bailey’s ultimate lifelong travel wish.
