Bars the world over have tried and true methods for helping patrons get happy, but now some bars are employing new tactics to give customers a sunnier disposition during the winter.

Establishments such as Lightbar in Portland now offer “atmosphere therapy” to counteract the effects of Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder (SAD) that impacts many people during wintertime.

Special therapeutic lights add a colourful ambience to the decor while simulating the sun’s effects on the human body and psyche and elevate the mood of the room.
