The “Best” One-Star Yelp Reviews of National Parks

I’m endlessly fascinated by really, really bad reviews on sites like TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc. More specifically: undeserved one-star reviews, especially at places like The Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park.

This recent article from Mother Jones doesn’t disappoint. A sample:

“Scenery is grand and huge and up in the air and distant and impersonal.” ?!

Talk about missing the point.

  1. I love the bad reviews. When looking for accommodation, I will often click the ‘terrible’ on Trip Advisor just for a laugh. I’ve come across some really odd reasons for giving a place one star. Like the guy who gave one star because the room didn’t have iPod connectivity. Or the lady who thought the motel restaurant should be open 24/7… when the motel was in rural Australia.

Keep posting these ones – they remind me of how funny and strange humans are.

    1. Haha – will do, Ajdeville!

I’m actually putting together a weekly column just to highlight these best-worst reviews because I love them so much =)
