The guests from all over the world who stopped by at our house using Pasporta Servo over the years have opened my mind a lot. The world is much more than you see in the TV news.
And I have travelled quite a lot, hardly ever needing a hotel. I prefer Pasporta Servo.

I spent a glorious week in London (in summer) using Pasporta Servo. ZAR don't go far in the UK and I wouldn't have been able to do it if not for PS.

I learned Esperanto 15 years ago and I am teaching it now on the web. Try lernu.net or www.kurso.com.br for a free online course.

I learned Esperanto about 20 years ago and have used Pasporta Servo in Germany and Brazil -- and have had a guest from Chile stay at my house. It really works and is a gateway for experiences that I think you could have no other way.

A young woman from California went to Europe and stayed there for months and months using Esperanto and Pasporta Servo. She did an interview while she was there about Esperanto. I think she was on the road for 22 months and visited 26 countries -- something like that.

English is carried by the strength of U.S. Dollars. Esperanto is carried by the strength of friendship.

People speak English because there's money to be made. People speak Esperanto because there are friends to be made.

I have used Esperanto in speech and writing in a dozen countries over the last 40 years. It has its own non-national speech community, and I have never had difficulty contacting Esperanto speakers ijn Bulgaria, Slovenia, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and so on. I recommend vagabonds to learn and use it.
