OMG!!! NO ! NO ! NOOO !!!!!!
If i were to climb Everest after the a road had been paved there, i would probably opt out!!
What the heck are they thinking?!!
That road would only take away the Stamina needed to complete the climb, then people Will take the environment there even less serious!! Why would they when nobody Else does?!!!!!
It is by far the most rediculous thing i have ever heard Of!!!!

This is definetly a natural disaster. I think that they should have a temporary closure of Mt. Everest. Tourists are damaging the beauty of Mt. Everest.

Dave, I’m really surprised that this hasn’t been more widely reported. I know most Americans are insular to the point of almost living in a cocoon, but seriously. Talk about environmental disaster.

ZB, as ridiculous as it sounds, I would not be at all surprised if that highway becomes like the main drag in Orlando, Florida. Horrified, yes. But not surprised.

Geez, Mike, you just beat me to another topic I planned to discuss – the pavement of a road to Everest Base Camp.

I suppose it’s good China stopped at invading Tibet, as I would bet Tibet is the less popular approach to Everest for trekkers and climbers alike.

Next week, I’m going to write about a few Nepal treks I’ve been researching.
