Because if he truly thinks passengers shouldn't be able to enjoy a cocktail in the airport before getting on a plane and/or a drink while in the air... well, the man is completely insane. Raise your glass to taking the edge off in order to deal with people like Elliott while at 40,000 feet. Cheers! Elliott can not possibly believe this. I hardly ever drink on a plane--actually, I think I've only ever had a couple of drinks on a plane. But I like the freedom. And 99.9% of people who drink on planes are completely moderate, normal people. Also, if I were ever in first class and wasn't able to have a glass of wine with my meal I'd be mightily cheesed off. In any case, I imagine drinks are an important earner for airlines these days who have a hard enough time making ends meet as it is. Not sure they'd go along with it willingly. Oh good grief. I hardly ever drink on a plane–actually, I think I’ve only ever had a couple of drinks on a plane. But I like the freedom. Try getting intoxicated passengers off a plane in an emergency in a timely manor! (Imagine if a few of the passengers on Flight 1549 were drunk.)
