Phiaton BT 460 Bluetooth Headphones Are As Innovative As They Are Sleek

These days, headphones are like mobile phone accessories — inexpensive, cheaply made, and available in a dizzying array of options.

But, over the years, we’ve discovered a handful of brands that we consistently love. With every new product launch (like their Bridge MS 500 headphones), Phiaton delivers on their promise of legitimately “premium” products. Phiaton promises their latest BT 460 are sleek, over-ear headphones with an intuitive interface, plus all the features you need and nothing you don’t.

They sent us a pair for a quick, first look. Here’s what we found …

The Skinny

In Phiaton’s own words:

These expertly crafted headphones, engineered for maximum listening comfort, provides unprecedented audio technology.

With touch interface, smart play-pause function, BT 460 headphones will keep you moving and grooving until the moment you remove them.

Make it a party with BT 460’s ShareMe™ technology, which allows multiple users of the BT 460 to share the same movie or music.

The Traveler’s Take

We’re big fans of sleek, minimalist design — design that knows how to get out of its own way. Where most manufacturers prefer to make their product design more about making a statement, Phiaton wisely focuses on function and purpose. The BT 460 headphones are no different. We very much dig the retro modern aesthetic of the ear cups — they’d feel right at home on the set of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Fold & Go design also allows them to occupy minimal space in your pack without the need for a bulky carrying case (though one is included anyway).

It’s not hard to find Bluetooth headphones that offer a wide array of features and the BT 460 offer all the features we’ve come to expect in a pair of premium cans. But the interface of the BT 460’s is what sets them apart. The touch control panel provides a sleek, organic means to play/pause, adjust the volume, and take/end phone calls all with the tap of a finger. The audio also cleverly stops whenever the headphones are removed and resumes when you put them back on. Coupled with an integrated vibration feature, this all ensures that you’ll rarely, if ever, need to remove your phone from your pocket to control your tunes.

The ShareMe feature is a nice touch, especially if you’re traveling with a partner and enjoy watching movies or listening to the same music while in flight, at the hotel, etc.

Lastly, a full charge is available in just three hours and that charge is good for a full 20 hours of music playback (or talk time, if you’re the chatty sort). That’s long enough to tackle even the longest commercial flight in the world.
