A Bit of Fall Housekeeping

by Mike Richard

Autumn’s in the air and the leaves they are a-fallin’ here in New England. I tried to fashion a metaphor that vividly compares the maturing of Vagabondish to the turning of the fall foliage. Alas, I came up empty. (I’ll blame it on my slow recovery from an all-weekend victory celebration of the Red Sox stealing the pennant).

Cutting right to the chase, in short order, here’s a few housekeeping notes that I wanted to relay to both of you who are keeping score:

New Design

If you’re an RSS addict like me, you likely spend the majority of your online time holed up in your Google Reader or Bloglines. And if so, you might not have noticed that Vagabondish got a redesign! I’m still making a few minor tweaks here and there. And if anything appears amiss or just doesn’t look right, I’d be much obliged if you’d let me know about it.

New Content

I’ve enlisted a bit of help from a few passionate vagabonds like myself. Already, Amanda Kendle’s In or Out: How to Pack for a Month-Long Trip became one of the most popular posts here on Vagabondish, receiving over 30,000 hits in just the past few days. This is a sign of great things to come!

New Subscription Option

If you’re not an RSS addict or you think RSS might be acronym for some sinister government agency, you might be interested to know that you can now subscribe to Vagabondish posts via e-mail. See the nifty “Subscribe via E-mail” option to your right? To be sure: we hate spam as much as you do so you’ll never receive anything from us that you didn’t ask for. The Daily Digest is lovingly provided by Feedburner.

That’s it for now. Again, a sincere and hearty thanks to all my readers!
