An American tour operator has been charged with plotting to overthrow the government of North Korea, an offence which carries a possible death sentence. Kenneth Bae has been imprisoned in North Korea since his arrest in the north-eastern region of the country in November, and it has now been announced that he will be tried for plotting to overthrow the government. Few details are available about the exact nature of Bae’s alleged crimes, but government officials appear to have taken issue with some of the photographs Bae snapped, including images of homeless children.
