America’s “Sadness Belt” Reveals Cluster of 10 Saddest U.S. States

Stretching in a slightly curved line from Ohio to Louisiana can be found the saddest 10 states in the union: Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

There is only speculation at this time as to why the populations of these states are so displeased. The results of a recent study focus more on the delighted-to-disconsolate range of each state. Once each territory was color coded to reflect the results of the study, the outcome was very clear: there is a well defined ‘sadness belt’ in the lower mid-to-east region of The United State.
