Amsterdam’s bike-friendly influence is welcomed stateside, in Huffington Post’s list of the 10 best cities for biking. From Portland, Oregon to St. Petersburg, Florida–cyclists have the right of way.

The cities were rated on total bikeable miles, accesibility to bike shares, amount of bike paths, and scenic rides.

Katie Adamson of Visit Denver says that the 300,000 rides logged during the two-year (and counting) lifespan ofDenver’s bike-share program have translated into 13.5 million burned calories, a $990,000 savings on gas and parking, and 1.1 million pounds of greenhouse gases avoided.
