Bizarre Culture: Brazil’s National Underwear Day [Video]

Mention the words “Brazil” and “underwear” in the same sentence, and you know you have a really great show on your hands. The normally chaotic train station at Brasilia turned positively frenzied last month as 27 male and female models sashayed down the railway platforms in their undies.
The fashion show was organized by the fashion website Finissimo in celebration of National Underwear Day. It was the second such celebration in the country and had a much better reception than the previous one.
The fashion show featured models displaying flimsy creations by a total of 13 Brazilian and international lingerie and underwear designers including Scala, Luppo, Apoena, Verve and Calvin Klein. Commuters who thronged the station to catch a view were handed advertising materials. Evidently not just another morning at the station.
