A dual campaign recently started in London for the lack of sunshine this season. The first, a group of women, recently descended on Parliament Square calling for more sunshine and a rain-free Olympics. Easy enough for the government to fix, right? The second part of the campaign is organized by brothers Rob and Paul Forkan. The Forkans founded Gandys Flip Flops and with the hope of more sunshine on the horizon, will use part of the sandals’ proceeds towards building an orphanage in Goa, India.

Rob Forkan says, ‘The poor weather and the current economic climate haven’t exactly put people in the mood for the beach. We thought it would be interesting to combine the two issues with a protest in jest. Hopefully we will cheer even Parliament up!’

More on the sunshine campaign can be found at The Daily Mail.
