I once took a crime writing course and great emphasis was put on originality, and having interesting, yet plausible, circumstances for your sleuth to investigate. I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of a detective story set on Mount Everest. My mentor probably would have written it off as too far-fetched. Apparently he would have been wrong.

Nepalese police are investigating a fight that broke out at Camp Three during Everest’s peak climbing season. An argument among a team of climbers is said to have escalated into a brawl where two European clients and their guides got into fisticuffs at high altitude. Details remain unclear while detectives investigate, but the company that organized the expedition has stated that their clients have since come down off the peak.
