Last week, Frances Macaskill, 58, was restrained aboard a Qantas flight from Melbourne after punching and injuring a fellow passenger and yelling profanities. Sensing that Macaskill’s behavior was very distracting, the pilot decided to head back to Melbourne. The Perth native was initially sentenced to four months in jail and a $3500 fine. After appearing in court, Macaskill will now owe Qantas $18,245 (the cost of the plane being diverted back to Melbourne).

Sounds like it might be time to start breathalyzer tests before boarding. More on the drunk and enraged granny can be found at the Sydney Morning Herald.
