A search is underway for 83-year-old Victoria Kong, who wandered off after disembarking from her flight at Washington’s Reagan National Airport. The woman is known to suffer from mild dementia and was last seen walking away from the airport on a bike path. A wheelchair and attendant was waiting to meet her at the gate when her flight arrived from Miami, but she walked right past it and carried on out of the airport.

No one had informed the airline of Ms. Kong’s potential to become confused or that she required any kind of special care or attention beyond the wheelchair. She was last seen on Friday night when surveillance video shows her walking north on the bicycle path.

Kong is described as a being about 5’5″ tall with a slight build, short dark hair, brown eyes, and a light hispanic complexion.

  1. They found her this morning, folks. Sadly she was no longer living. Looks like she had gotten onto some of the hiking / biking trails north of the airport. The radio report said she was found about 30 feet off one of the hiking trails.
