Explorers Wanted for Trip to Mars

It’s all very reminiscent of the advertisement placed by Ernest Shackleton when recruiting the crew for his polar expedition, “Men wanted for hazardous journey, small wages, months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful, honour and recognition in case of success.”

The private Mars One project has started looking for people to send on an expedition to Mars in 2022. It would be the journey of a lifetime. There’s only one catch — it’s a one-way trip. The successful candidates will undergo years of training for a mission to Mars, and once they reach the red planet they will reside there for the rest of their lives.

Applicants must be dependable, team players, and perform well in a crisis.
