More reassuring news for those of us already terrified of flying. Two pilots on a Go! Air plane from Honolulu to Hilo overshot their airport by 15 miles, and the Federal Aviation Administration has now launched in investigation into the possibility that the two chaps dozed off in the cockpit!

It gets worse. It was a 29 minute flight! How sleepy do you have to be to be unable to keep your eyes open 29 minutes after take off? It would be understandable (not OK, but understandable) on an all-nighter, but a 29 minute flight?!!

Radar tracks of the flight show that the flight was at 20,000 feet when it passed over Hilo Airport. Once they realized their mistake (after scrambling awake presumably) the flight was diverted back to the airport.

Go! is part of the problem riddled Mesa Air Group, whose chronic crew shortages and aircraft defects have had their own pilots union protesting the impact on crew morale.
