On Tuesday, 450 women donned bikinis and converged on Panama City Beach to march one mile and set a new Guinness World Record for the longest bikini parade. The Panama City parade crushed the previous record set by bikini paraders in Australia. The Australian parade last year had just 357 participants.

The stunt was by orchestrated by local tourist leaders who wanted to come up with a fun Spring Break promotion that would gain mainstream attention.

“This is the most exciting day of my life, tears were coming out of my eyes, I’m so proud of the United States,”

bikini-clad participant Karly Quinn stated.

Dan Rowe, president of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau was just as pleased as Quinn,

“We are thrilled to have challenged and broken the record for the World’s Largest Bikini Parade.”
