If a bunch of interested customers in Asia have their way, the double decker Airbus A380 will soon have a casino on board.
Casinos are becoming big business in Asia, and Macau is expected to overtake Vegas as the word’s gaming capital. The idea was proposed by Airbus makers way back when the plane was first introduced, but not many airlines were excited about the proposal, because setting up gaming tables decreases the number of seats they can charge passengers for.
Renewed interest has come from Asian clients, and if all goes well, you could be playing roulette at 30,000 feet as early as 2012.
