Eat Our Dirt! New French Restaurant Serves Dirt in Every Dish

The French restaurant in Tokyo, Japan called Ne Quittez Pas is getting quite a bit of press for it’s new 7 course meal. In English, Ne Quittez Pas literally means Don’t Leave, and one must assume that it has to be called thus because if patrons got a peek at the tasting menu, they might not stick around.

Toshio Tanabe is the chef behind the controversial menu, and the infamous not-so-mysterious ingredient is dirt. Tanabe was trained at a Michelin French restaurant and had a career as a professional boxer at one point, but no word as to his apparent fascination with mud.

The menu starts with a dirt soup and ends with a lovely, if crunchy, dirt ice cream. All 7 courses will run you $110 USD, and you can chase it all down with dirt mint tea. Yes, really.
