German Pub Skirts Smoking Ban with “Butt Holes”

This is one trend that promises to be the butt of many jokes to come. (Get it? Seriously, we’re here all week)
At the Maltermeister Turm in Goslar, Germany, the enterprising owner found a novel way to beat the new smoking ban, and accommodate customers who complained about having to freeze their butts off in the biting cold every time they went out for a smoke. He cut out three holes in the wall, a bigger one for the head and two smaller ones at the sides for the arms. Now, smokers in need of a nicotine fix can happily pop their heads and arms though these “butt holes,” and puff away while their bottoms stay warm and toasty indoors.
Although it was conceived as a joke, the concept has proved popular among customers. If nothing, the rear end view of the smoker from the inside of the bar could make for some great bar room conversation.
