Christian Brown – the man made famous for copiloting a balloon ’round the world with Sir Richard Branson – is taking his 18 years of ballooning expertise to the next level.
With the creation of one of the world’s first glass-bottomed hot air balloons, the pilot-turned-inventor is hoping to create a uniquely “terrifying experience”:
We’ve done tethered trials before, which usually end with passengers shrieking and screaming in fear, but this is the first time we’ve actually taken to the skies unaided. Ordinarily, you would look over the edge of the basket to peer at the ground below but there is something very disconcerting about seeing it right beneath your feet.

Only thing missing: some brave (read: crazy) soul to jump up and down on the glass floor … like I did on the floor of Toronto’s CN Tower.
