Heart-shaped Islands Around the World

Whether man-made or not, love clearly is all around. Four islands dispersed around the globe are shaped like hearts, and make for a perfect destination for Valentine’s Day.

Galesnjak Island, as seen above, became famous after the shape was discovered via Google Earth in 2009. That same year, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson developed Makepeace Island, located in Queensland, Australia.

All four islands are open for tourism and gladly welcome wedding ceremonies. More details on each island can be found at LA Times.com

  1. Tavarua Island, Fiji and Moorea Island, Tahiti are also heart shaped islands (though Moorea is a bit irregular).
