Helskini’s Hotel Finn has an unusual employment opportunity. The hotelier is seeking a “Professional Sleeper” to work for the newly renovated hotel. The job entails spending one night sleeping in each of the property’s 35 guest rooms to test them out.

This job description may sound like the ticket for the chronically unemployed and acutely unmotivated, but the requirements for the position are actually fairly demanding. To be eligible to become a Professional Sleeper you must be fluent in Finnish and English, and it would help if you know Russian. You must also be “a dynamic person able to write a quality blog” which — despite what some people think of bloggers — rules out most slackers and layabouts.
