It’s kind of hard to believe. Wyoming may be the least populous state in the union, but it’s still astonishing to learn that they only have two sets of escalators in the entire state of Wyoming.

I’m not the only one who couldn’t take it at face value. When The Atlantic encountered a 2008 report that there were only two pairs of working escalators in Wyoming, they decided to investigate. They determined that nothing has changed in the past five years. The escalators — both in banks in Casper incidentally — are still there, but no new ones have been installed. They neither want or need them.

Find out more in The Atlantic. At least they don’t have to worry about any conflicts arising from the failure to heed the Walk Left, Stand Right rule.
