A ten month old cat managed to jump into her owner’s open suitcase, and then survived a flight from Florida to Texas in a cargo hold where temperatures rarely go above freezing.
After Gracie Mae jumped into the open suitcase, her owner who didn’t notice that he had a cat in the bag, zipped up the suitcase, and proceeded to catch his flight. Airport security completely missed the living, breathing tabby (the TSA hard at work again!) as she began her journey.
The kicker? The bag ended up with an unsuspecting stranger who proceeded to take it home, and empty the contents. Would have liked to see the look on his face when a cat jumped out.
Gracie Mae has been safely returned to her frantic owners. Experts have only one explanation for her survival in the sub zero hold – the luggage probably retained enough heat to keep her warm.
