Live Online
by Mike Richard
Cancel your subscriptions and read free online newspapers, magazines, forums, etc. instead of paying for their real world, offline counterparts. Why buy Wired when you can read it online? Why pay $2-3/day for The New York Times or [Your City Here] Tribune/Herald/Star/Sun when you can typically read it online for free.
Bonus: Firefox users can download the BugMeNot plug-in and bypass many of those annoying, register-before-you-read subscription sites. Once you’ve installed the plugin, simply visit any registration-based site (such as an online newspaper, etc.). Right-click on the login box and select “Login with Bugmenot”. Voila! It doesn’t work with every site online, but I’ve had success with about 95% of the sites I visit. Download the Bugmenot plugin free.
