So a moose walks into a grocery store and…

I wish there were a hilarious punchline to go with this. There isn’t. Shoppers at Safeway in Smithers, British Columbia, Canada were both amused and alarmed to find a young moose browsing the grocery store. Several shoppers snapped pics and video before the animal was shooed out the door by a store employee.

Onlookers report that the moose was in the parking lot when people started feeding it apples. The moose then followed shoppers into the store where it roamed the aisles for a bit before being chased out. Wildlife officials were summoned and tranquilized the moose in the parking lot. In a sad turn of events, the moose later died from complications of being tranquilized combined with its already poor health.

Don’t feed the wildlife, people. Seriously. Just don’t.
