Just in time for the Passover holiday, locusts descend on Egypt. Israel has been on Locust Alert this week because of the hordes that have landed all over Egypt. The massive groups of locusts are more than annoying, and there is a fear that if they spread to Israel the much-needed crops will suffer.

The timing of the plight is fairly apt with Passover coming soon, and many have taken care to note this. Passover is a traditional spring festival celebrating the Israelites from the Egyptians. According to the Bible, locusts were one of the 10 plagues beset on the Egyptians for enslaving the Israelites.
