While attending a wedding poolside at the Golden Inn Hotel and Resort in New Jersey two years ago, Suzanne Peirce was in the company of the Philadelphia Phillie’s mascot, Phillie Phanatic. The mascot was there to entertain guests, and at one point in the evening, picked up the pool lounge chair Peirce was sitting on and threw her into the pool.

Peirce suffered shock, a herniated disc and additional joint, nerve and tissue injuries. This week she filed a lawsuit against the man performing as Phillie Phanatic, the day of the pool incident. At this time there is still a question of who was performing as the mascot the day of the incident. Peirce is seeking unspecified damages from the Phanatic, the Phillies and the hotel.
