Photograph or Painting? Capturing Namibia’s Stunning Camel Thorn Trees
by Mike Richard

Hulks of Camel Thorn Trees © Frans Lanting for National Geographic
While on assignment in Namibia for National Geographic magazine, Frans Lanting captured this surreal landscape image in a location called Dead Vlei. Due to the nature of the lighting in the frame, the photograph appears almost like a painting.
A truly remarkable photo (and all of the accompanying details) via National Geographic Magazine.

Wow! I actually searched for this because a similar photo was bing’s image today. It’s amazing how much a photo of these trees can look like a painting.
