Starbucks Opens First Ski-Up Location in California
by Heather Bond | February, 2012
Starbucks has dominated cafe culture for decades, and this month, the company opened the first mountain-based location in Squaw Valley.
Skiers and snowboarders can order their favorite Starbucks drinks at 8,000 feet, and if skilled enough, can finish the drink on their way down the summit.
We worked closely with the design team at Starbucks to create a one-of-a-kind experience that we know our guests will truly enjoy, said Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley’s president and CEO. Nowhere else in the world can skiers and riders enjoy a delicious Starbucks coffee without missing a beat on the slopes.
