The Cleanest Rainwater in the World, Bottled
by Shabana
Move over Evian, there’s a new stylish bottled water in the market, and it’s sourced from a region even more pristine than the French Alps. Heaven, actually.
Tasmanian Rain bottled water is captured from what its manufacturers say are the clearest skies on the planet. That isn’t just advertising hype. According to the World Metrological Organization, the air in northwestern Tasmania is the cleanest in the world. The water is captured directly from rainfall sources, and is packaged in sophisticated (read: expensive) bottles.
Tasmanian Rain is sold in still and sparking varieties, and is guaranteed that every drop is captured before it touches the ground. Beat that, Evian.
That’s not all. The company has launched a tree planting program that will help offshoot the carbon emissions that result from the shipment of their product. Sure to appeal to tree hugging mineral water drinking peoples everywhere.

It’s nice to see bottled water companies finally giving back and trying to offset the damage done to the environment through the shipping and bottling of their water. But, the cheapest and greenest way to go is still to BYOB(that’s bring your own bottle).

Interesting, I’m Tasmanian and actually there is another company called Cloud Juice which started up long before this one. The owner was actually my Music teacher and apparently he has just got his product into the wolds best restaurant. The truth is they both collect the water from specifically built “roofs” and the water is treated somewhat because birds fly over them. These waters are available locally too and at a fraction of the cost they sell for where “designer” water is popular. It’s still expensive as far as water goes though.
Any this is my Music teachers product, named after the Island I grew up on. http://www.cloudjuice.com.au/

Elizabeth: I agree – BYOB’s always the best option and one I’ve been espousing for a while.
Dan: Yeah, it’s definitely targeted towards a trendy demographic. Too bad you can’t patent bottled rain. Clearly (pun intended) your music teacher was on to something long before this other company came along.

Where is this stuff sold. I’d love to conduct a blind taste test with all my personal training clients.
