Slated to launch today, WeJetSet.com is a combined retailer and publication that claims to be “the store and voice of modern travel culture”. And they’re giving away a Mercedes to make certain that you believe it. Does anyone see a disconnect with this screenshot from their contest page?

Sounds like yet another uber-glossy e-zine for the loyal, uppity, Four Seasons spa vacation-loving, Travel + Leisure set.

Am I being too presumptuous and judgmental here? Perhaps. But too often, I think “modern” tends to serve as a euphemism for “yuppie a-hole”. And, as a recovering yuppie a-hole myself, I think I know of what I speak.

Indeed! I was thinking the same thing about Jet Set Show, but I love those guys! :)
