The Ultimate Traveler’s Cellphone

by Mike Richard

Well, “ultimate” if you don’t mind carrying a wind turbine around with you.

TravelGearBlog is reporting:

Orange is working on developing a portable turbine that is powered by the wind, providing juice for your mobile phone. While this project is still in the works, and prototypes are being worked out, the turbine is supposed to be able to mount to the top of a dome-style tent, and with the wind spinning the fan, provide a trickle charge that will charge most phones in about 1-2 hours.

“Prototypes are being worked out”? Yeah, judging by this picture, I’d say they’ve a little ways to go before they arrive at a marketable product.

It is quite remarkable in a cleverly simplistic way though.
