Police in the Dutch town of Enter are are investigating the theft of the Netherland’s largest clog after it disappeared without a trace last weekend.

The theft was not a light task, considering the wooden shoe is 2m high, 4m in length and weighs almost two tons.

Police spokeswoman Rosita de Vries believes the robbery was a prank,

“We don’t know who stole it, but it’s disappeared… It is a joke. We even received an email announcing that the shoe will probably be back after Carnival.”

Police still have no leads on the perpetrators of the clog caper.
