Tim Cahill on Travel Dreams
by Mike Richard
Via WhyGo.com:
A lot of us first aspired to far-ranging travel and exotic adventure early in our teens; these ambitions are, in fact, adolescent in nature, which I find an inspiring idea. … Thus, when we allow ourselves to imagine as we once did, we know, with a sudden jarring clarity, that if we don’t go right now, we’re never going to do it. And we’ll be haunted by our unrealized dreams and know that we have sinned against ourselves gravely.
That’s what it’s all about – looking back when I’m 60 years old without regret; knowing that I realized my dreams and took a chance.

Right on Mike! Last year I decided to shoot for departing in early December, which meant I was scheduling myself to leave about 4 months prior to potentially earning a second annual raise ($$$$).
The money was tempting, however I realized there are no guarantees in life, and if I didn’t take a more aggressive approach to planning my trip, I might get laid off, get ill, or have some other event derail me. I wasn’t going to let that happen!
