Kismot Indian Resturant in Edinburgh, Scotland has promised to tone down the curry it serves in its annual “world’s hottest chilli competition” after contestants were left writhing on the floor in agony and two were hospitalized.

The competition, a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, rewards the participant who eats the most extra-hot Kismot Killer curry with a certificate and trophy.

The restaurant’s website describes the competition as ‘not a contest to see who can eat the most, but a test of endurance against a top secret nuclear strength recipe using some of the world’s hottest chillies.’

Kismot restaurant is well-known in Edinburgh for its bizarre culinary creations like vindaloo ice cream, chocolate curry and marshmallow naan””but hopefully a taste of marshmallow naan won’t land you in the emergency room.
