Website Features Authentic Photos of Hotel Accommodations

A simple startup that began as exhaustive travel research around the world, led to an aha! moment for the founders of Oyster.com.
The three founders discovered that it was hard to tell whether the hotels they booked, would live up to their expectations. So they set out to photograph and document the real photos of hotels that you don’t always see. For example, the featured photo above shows the other side of the pool at the Sofitel Los Angeles–in the shadow of a busy mall.
Oyster.com currently keeps records of featured hotels in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. If you’re feeling extra curious before booking your next accommodation, you can search by key terms here.
