World’s Largest Building Opens in China

It’s not a competition. Really. It seems no one told certain superpowers that. The Chinese city of Chengdu is laying claim to the “world’s largest building” since the New Century Global Center opened on June 28th.

The new building isn’t as tall as you might expect. It gets its size in breadth rather than height. Its massive area is slightly shy of 19 million square feet, which houses offices, hotels, cinemas, restaurants, a waterpark, retail space, and an imitation Mediterranean village. You know, the usual.
